Hi! I found your site because I wanted to know how well a Sun Type 7 keyboard would work on Linux. I guess it works okay, but I don't like the way I can be holding down Ctrl and it doesn't *feel* like it's up but it's actually not registering any more, and also I don't like the backspace key location. I really want the 10 function keys on the left though!
Regarding the Compose light, I found that I was able to control it using the brightnessctl command. I imagine it would be useful if you had a little program that made the compose key turn on the light and then accept just two keys to compose, e.g. a letter and apostrophe to give an acute accent - I suppose that might have been how it worked on Sun machines? Or you could use it for something else entirely, like an indicator that you have mail.
